This song was inspired by a visit made with my wife at the Museum of Paola Ceramics in Faenza, where, by chance and unexpectedly, I read the word WU-CHI in a cardboard display a table of one of the rooms and with a series of drawings (which I will learn to call studies) representing the motif of pink (or peony ), perhaps the most loved and appreciated by the public.

Master ceramist Enzo Mari for the Faenza Museum from the consideration that this decoration, "in many of his figures are so unusual in shape or correlation to suggest strongly symbolic implications" that go beyond the simple definition of "chinoiserie" . The study of the decoration takes as a reference model of a flat earthenware of 1700 and the Master Mari will now divide the representation into three levels: the center, around the center and outside the center. The central part of the decoration is further divided into other reproductions.

r LAYING The first is the JI WU (WU CHI, the Non-Hum). Shown from Water Primordial representing in many creation myths of the world, the source of all life (amniotic fluid ...), the primitive chaos. The water also represents the totality of possible events, well then binds to the concept of energy (QI) latent and manifest, and not organized in its maximum potential. The decoration takes shape in the water wave, the linking element between WU JI and Peony Yin, the flower related to the spring at birth (or rebirth). "At the same time created the first land Peony" (E. Mari).
The second generation is the fence. The fence is the sacred place, the altar sacrificial, the abode of the Gods. "This element is always united with the peonies. Remember that you are looking at the plate in front of the rite of the covenant, implied in a collective meal, the feast which was used to bloom the virtues." (E. Mari)
The third generation is the peony YIN. Arises from the WU JI, has the same color of the water thus generating the same force. YIN represents the part shade, the female principle, the Earth. "includes two germination: the upper pair cinnabar and blue reminiscent of the complementarity of the combination of Yin-Yang: the lower the sprouting of the Cinnabar Peony Yang indicating the potential for mutation of the peony in the Yin Yang. " (E. Mari)
The fourth play is the peony YANG. Backed by Peony YIN, YANG represents the part of the sun, the male principle, Heaven. The color is reminiscent of cinnabar (mercury red colored crystals), symbolizing immortality. On top of the Peony YANG germination recur blue indicates the continuous relationship of Yin-Yang.
More Stationery the center are the "fill the vacuum", among which we find the bamboo capable of banishing the demons and a symbol of longevity, peace and quiet atmosphere.
around the center. A line of demarcation that separates the center and surrounds the outside as to define "what is beyond and what is on this side of the universe," or separates what it was before, earlier, from what is after , rear. The decoration used is extremely symbolic. You can find ornamental traits that attract the subdivision in paddy soil, therefore, a symbol of abundance and wealth and other traits more similar to the scaly skin of a "dragon" symbol of fertility and spring rains.
Outside the center, a series of fine performances for themselves that "fill the void" as to comfort the "fear of nothing. "
