Qi Gong and Yi Jing - I Six Dragons fly to Heaven

Refer to the pictures Yi Jing, the Book of Changes in the practice of Qi Gong is inevitable. Essential text (jing) of Chinese culture, consists of sixty-four images that are formed by a stretch broken (yin) and an entire section (YANG). By combining these two traits, in groups of six, you get a universe of expressive images, which have a meaning within a given context. The first image
the Y is depicted JING QIAN, the Creator. Designed with six international treaties, is the manifestation of Heaven, yang and all that is visible. If we want to refer to human behavior, is the personal journey toward self-affirmation, in the social area. Confucian claim that according to the canons, is won by the moral rectitude and integrity. This path can be united with a path "initiation" that grows vertically into six stages. These stages are divided into three stages: two moments or "traits" associated with the Earth, two and two Man of the order of Heaven.

In the practice of QI GONG LING MING PAO in the School of SAN YI QUAN, the first hexagram is the key to the running of the year "The Flight of the Dragon Six Heads" or "The Flight of the Six Dragons." The purpose of this series of postures and breathing techniques is, in its basic form, to draw attention to six energy points, called the "Six Dragons" [1].

Exercise
Assuming the posture WU JI , Non-Hum or the free man (legs apart, knees slightly bent, torso erect, shoulders relaxed, arms along the trunk, neck slightly extended head upright), our attention port on the breath, slow down and trying to make it more quiet and deep. In this preparation, the hands are moving forward, at the lower abdomen and begin to "knead" imaginary mass. Imagine, therefore, to bring the dough up, during inhalation, and letting it fall, falling in expiration. The aim is to allocate the QI in the body starting with the "lower centers" or "Lower Dan Tian", linked to the Earth, as related to the Earth, are the first two lines of the hexagram.

First section (TERRA).
"Nine beginning means: Dragon covered. Not to act. "

The gesture will stop briefly at the lower abdomen, the body's weight on his heels is our gaze turns to the ground. The focus moves to the feeling of a large sphere, which is extremely heavy, and the point deduction in the hands HUI YIN, at the base of the perineum. This is the first part, setting the stage, in which the dragon is hidden deep in the earth to build up his strength and express it in later. To say that the power of an individual, whether male or female, does not manifest itself in his outward appearance but derives its strength in the ability to recognize their deep roots. Breathing involves only the pelvic floor, breathing in contracts and "raises", exhaling relaxes the pelvic muscles and back in a natural position.

Second section (TERRA) .
" Nine in the second place means: Dragon that appears in the field. It furthers one to see a great man. "

The hands go up and you bring the height of the abdomen, the body's weight is always on his heels. The fingers are directed towards each other, the pelvis is in posterior tilt. The focus is moving on the feeling of another sphere, heavy, and the point QI HAI TIAN DAN Bottom, about three fingers below the navel. The look is still facing the ground. In the second section the preparation is complete, the dragon appears. The power begins to grow and express themselves outside. The section is still in the stadium land, labor or exercise (GONG) played by the practitioner, aims to strengthen the roots and personal strength. Keep your posture a few moments. Abdominal breathing is the belly "fills" and "expands" breathing and "clear" in exhalation. Separate side arms and then descend to the perineum.

Third leg (MAN).
" Nine in the third place means: The noble and creatively active throughout the day. Yet the evening is full of thoughts. Danger. No stain .

The hands go up along the axis of the body, passing from the abdomen stopping at the center of the chest, Middle Dan Tian point ZHONG TING. The fingers are pointing at each other. Straightens the posture, the pelvis is balanced, the weight is placed at the center of the feet, eyes horizon. The feeling is to "embrace" a sphere, the larger of the above, it will light and heavy leaning on the chest. The Dragon is now gone. The practitioner (or initiate, if we want to enter another field) is an intermediate level, is no longer supported by the Earth but it is still in contact with Heaven. The aim is to find the "right balance" between the earth (yin) and heaven (yang). The student has to learn to "walk", to rely only on its own merits and recognize its limitations. Only in this way will express the power of the Dragon. Breathing involves only the chest, perineum and abdomen are immobile. The blades are separated during inspiration and return when we exhale. Separate side arms to descend to the perineum. The body weight gradually returns toward the heels.

Fourth leg (MAN).
"Nine in the fourth place means: Swinging momentum over the abyss. No stain.

The hands go up again along the axis of the body, the palms are placed in front of the base of the neck, TIAN TU point and pivot outwards. The basin is a slight anterior tilt and the body weight is on the toes. The feeling is to support a ball of silk between the neutral and the light. The look is up. We are at the point of transition from first to second trigram. This is the point at which the force must leave room for the spirit of the Dragon. As with all change, change takes time and patience and the ability the practitioner should seize the moment. The breathing is light, air enters and fills the throat and collarbone area. Exhale arms to separate the sides back down to the perineum. The body weight gradually returns toward the heels.

fifth leg (SKY).
"Nine in the fifth place means: Flying dragon in the sky. It furthers one to see the great man. "

Going along the axis of the body, the hands at the same time lead to the front, the top center point YIN TANG. The palms, along the way, reached the point TIAN TU are moving upward and forward positioned front then to YIN TANG, DAN TIAN Superior. The body is increasing, and gaze into the sky (diagonal to the central axis of the body). The body weight on the balls of your feet, the pelvis anterior tilt. The feeling is to support a lightweight ball, such as made of clouds, the focus is on the point located between the eyebrows. The Dragon reappears. This is the point of change. All efforts so far have led to the result: the Man, through the Breath of Heaven, is in harmony with the universe. Its strength is separate from the darkness, coupled with clarity comes to the "clairvoyance" and "see light." Breathing is very thin, if a candle flame approached the mouth does not move. " Exhale arms to separate the sides back down to the perineum. The body weight gradually returns toward the heels.

sixth treatment (SKY).
"Nine top means: Dragon haughty will regret."

Going along the axis of the body, the hands at the same time lead to the top of the head, point the BAI HUI. The palms, along the way, reached the point TIAN TU, are moving upward and forward, beyond YIN TANG, are placed over the head, in relation to BAI HUI. The body is extended, the look on the sky. The body sits on your toes, the pelvis anterior tilt. The feeling is to support a ball of light very light, the focus is on the top of the head. A warning. If he loses his roots (YIN), YANG at this stage, may not be able to rule their own spirit (Shen) and fall into delirium. To maintain peace, the right balance has to be able to dose its "power" and not go against the nature of the Way (Tao). The breath is almost non-existent. After the inspiration followed by a phase of "Inspire inhaling, as if inhaling through the point at BAI HUI, it will continue along the entire spine and through the tailbone, penetrate the earth to its center.

Exhale separate side arms to descend to the perineum. The body weight gradually returns toward the heels. Our focus during the descent along the central axis, passes from time to time from the point at BAI HUI YIN TANG, TU TIAN, ZHONG TING, and QI HUI YIN HAI. By freeing the movement, repeat the ascent and subsequent descent. This gesture is called "The Flight of the Dragon Six Heads" or "The Flight of the Six Dragons" and, symbolically, the wording of the Y JING always on the first hexagram:

"You will see a row dragons without heads (no controls on the other). It is peace. "

The sequence ends with a series of movements called" Make fun of the Tiger "or the" Race of the Tiger "which brings back the tradition which states that when the dragon appears in the sky (flying dragon), we must be cautious, as the tiger and the following is not far away.
At the end of exhalation in the final sequence of "Flight of the Dragon":
breathing, the basin is gradually opening the door in a movement of anterior tilt. Slowly extend the arms, palms are moving forward to full extension of spine. The weight of the body moves to the toes, exhale, the pelvis moves in the closing movement with a tilt, the arms are carried forward from the body, the fingers are turning towards the perineum (internal rotation of the arms). The weight of the body back on his heels, spine retracts. (The Race of the Tiger is a movement similar to the "Water Walking " in its static form, as described on this blog.)

When the movement reaches its maximum width, release the gesture of opening and closing " gradually returning to the starting posture WU JI.

[1] These "energy centers" are located at the front of the body, on a course which is held vertically, starting from the perineum to the top of the head. We can determine their correspondence with the six traditional acupuncture points: HUI YIN (CV 1 - in the center of the perineum), QI HAI (CV 6 - to 1.5 on or below the navel), ZHONG TING (CV 16 - at the fifth intercostal space in the center of the chest), TIAN TU (CV 22 - above the sternum, the center the suprasternal fossa), YIN TANG (meridian point out, the midline of the body, between the eyebrows), BAI Hui (GV 20 - on top of the head, on the point of intersection between the midline of the skull and the line connecting the tips of the ears.

Winter advances ... Strengthen the kidneys with the "Water Walk"

The great "classic" of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Nei Jing Su Wen, in his seasonal tips says

" Three months of winter are called: close and treasured, the water freezes, the earth cracks, and no stimulus is more from Yang. We went to bed early, getting up late, we call for all the sunshine. This exercise will like, buried, as hidden as addressed only to himself, as occupied to possess. It escapes the cold, the heat is real, not letting anything slip through the layers of the skin, for fear of being dangerously HOLDING their breaths. So we shall comply with gusts of winter, hoarding away for the maintenance of life. Would go against kidney damage, resulting in the spring, disability ebbs and for inadequate intakes influence Vitale. " (C. Larre - ER De La Vallée -" Huangdi Neijing Suwen - simple questions of the Yellow Emperor "- published by Jaca Book). Influence the Food

Vitale or feed the "life principle", YANG SHENG (养生), is to say what you feed your life (SHENG-生) of an individual and his body. The techniques of "Nourishing the Vital Principle" allows the QI (气), the stream of life or breath of life, to spread throughout the body. Feeding the IQ means to stimulate, repair and regenerate the whole organism.

Movement winter, as we read from the Nei Jing, is the hoarding of the merger to close in order to preserve, in deep drawing, principles of life. As part of the Five Movements Water (Shui) features the same motion of the winter, the maximum return, the supreme internalization, the inertia and the maximum concentration of yin of the kidneys.

Nell'energetica classical level of the human body, the kidneys express this energy. Rene left and right contain the profound essence of Yin and Yang, so the original memory energy (Qi), energy ancient, energy parental (mother and father) then the personal energies, individual (individis - which can not be divided or separated).

The Walking Water
QI GONG This exercise has the power to strengthen the kidney energy, acting on the Lower Dan Tian (TIAN XIA DAN). Adapted from Xing Yi Quan, Internal Martial Arts, according to the School of Teacher SAN YI QUAN Georges Charles, allows work to mobilize the joints, very useful in winter. Walking bringing attention to the lower abdomen and the movement of the feet will accentuate this effect.

Part One - Shape static
First, it assumes the posture WU JI. Literally "not - Hum ", this is the posture that assumes every practitioner before beginning any exercise of Qi Gong. Standing in a natural position, legs apart, feet at a distance between the width of the hips and shoulders, arms along the trunk. Do some deep breathing in a calm and, in this position, bringing attention to the Lower Dan Tian.

  • Yin Water Movement - YIN SHUI. In inhaling raise both hands at the waist, and bring a little backwards to reach the same level of the kidneys. The palms are facing the ground, the fingers back and down. Our "intention", is to direct energy, IQ, particularly to the kidneys and the Ming Men point to the tip of your fingers. Hands describe an arc toward the rear of the body and arms are to protect the lower back. The legs extend slightly. Yang
  • Movement of Water - YANG SHUI. At the end of the movement Yin Water, hands move forward and downward in an exhalation. The intention is to direct energy toward the lower abdomen, as to "protect" the bladder.
Inhale and repeat the movement Yin Water, his hands behind his back, near the kidneys, palms to the ground, with the fingers pointing backwards and towards the bottom. Repeat the movement of Yin and Yang Water eight times.

Part II - Form Moving From
WU JI in an inhalation-exhalation join up and assume an upright posture, heel against the heel, arms along the body (posture YI MA BO). The sensation of the body is neutral, between heavy and light. You can maintain this posture for a few breaths, bringing attention to the Lower Dan Tian.

Inhale, turn slightly to the left, carry the weight on the right foot and lift the heel of left foot (posture YI SAN TI). The hands are raised in the abdomen by making a semi circle back Movement (Yin Water). The intention is to bring the iQ to the kidneys or the point MING MEN. Exhale
the left foot moves forward and rests on the ground (the heel first and then the sole of the foot - SAN posture TI). At the same time the hands move forward and downward Movement (Yang Water). The intention is to move the IQ on the front of the lower abdomen into the bladder. SAN

From TI, breathing, move your body weight on the foot forward, left. Immediately the back foot, the right moves at the other foot (posture YI MA). At the same time his hands back into place Yin Water behind. Turn slightly to the right, carry the weight on his left foot and lift the heel of his right foot (YI SAN TI).

Exhale right foot forward and rests on the ground (SAN TI). At the same time the hands move forward and position the Yang Water. Do this hike at least eight steps.

As already mentioned, the focus is on the Lower Dan Tian, \u200b\u200beither inside the abdomen that the Chinese medical tradition says MING MEN between points on the lumbar region (more precisely, located between the second and third vertebra back on the same horizontal navel, the region corresponding to the kidneys) and QI HAI abdomen, below the navel (6 VC The sixth point of the Conception Vessel meridian).
